• avoid one word searches and including non-essential and stop words in queries
• use no more words than are necessary

Directions

Use these tutorial games to reinforce the concepts of keyword selection. The directions are simple:

In each game, found online at the link above, the challenge is to drag only the words that will be effective in answering the question. Power words are proper nouns, numbers and words that explain WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, and WHY related to the question.

Students get 4 tries to score 80 points or higher. Queries that score at least 80 points are effective in retrieving information that answers the question.

Point out the hints that the Wizard provides after each try and at the end of the game.
