How can I organize my favorite files?
It is useful to group favorite files into folders. This reduces the length of your list and let's you create a logical filing system. However to remain useful, this approach takes some time and maintenance.
Click Favorites and choose Organize Favorites.
- Click Create Folder. Your cursor will be moved inside the name of
the New Folder.
- You can now edit the Folder's name.
- Hit enter and the new name will be accepted.
- You can now drag Favorites into the new folder.
- Close the folder and drag it anywhere on your list.
I know I've created the favorite, but I can't find it. How can I find what I'm looking for in my favorite system?
Even with a well-organized folder system, your favorite list can quickly grow so large it becomes unwieldy. To find a lost favorite you can try several strategies. Check the very bottom of your list. New favorites are put at the end of your list by default. You can then scroll up through your list looking for the name of the lost favorite.
- Click Favorites and choose Organize Favorites.
- You cannot automatically search Internet Explorer Favorites.
- You will have to scroll to search.
- To make this task more manageable, re-size the Favorites widow using the point, click and drag method.
- You will now be able to see the complete names of the Favorites links.
